Dark Fire Self-Striping Sock (4) - 75/25 SW Corriedale/Nylon - Squoosh 2.0 Base

Gandalf's threat to the Balrog of the deep in Moria did not end well for the creature, but it inspired this colorway, and that can end in some really awesome knitted objects for you! It stripes in earthenware red, pumpkin orange and buttercup yellow with a stripe of black between each. The second picture is representative of how the stripes will knit up.

It was dyed on our Squoosh 2.0 base, 75% SW Corriedale, 25% Nylon, 383 yards, fingering weight, 6.5-8 stitches per inch on US 0-2 needles. Corriedale is a harder wearing wool than Merino while still maintaining a softness than is comfortable for garments. This base is a perfect workhorse yarn for the hand-knit sock lovers in your life who may be a little hard on their socks.

Recommended care: Though this is a superwash wool and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.

All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color strengths can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.

We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
